Cultivator

A cultivator is an agricultural implement for stirring and pulverizing the soil, either before planting or to remove weeds and to aerate and loosen the soil after the crop has begun to grow. Cultivators are powered by a tractor and stir the soil, generally to a greater depth than does the harrow. Cultivators are globally prominent for high strength, longer durability, better performance, and cost-effectiveness. Cultivators are mainly low maintenance implements which is also a prime reason for its popularity. It is a mainly a secondary tillage and seedbed preparation implement with staggered, spaced shanks. Both Point type and Sweep type tools can be used on the shanks. Cultivator also facilitates the application of fertilizer and pesticides during the secondary tillage.
